Fomer Employee of Country Club in Redding Charged With Unemployment Fraud: State Attorney

Police say the crimes took place over a three-year period.

REDDING, CT — A former employee of a country club in Redding was arrested and charged with unemployment fraud Tuesday, according to the Connecticut Division of Criminal Justice. Jose A. Flete, 48, of Waterbury is accused of fraudulently collecting almost $1,200 in unemployment compensation benefits.

Authorities say the arrest was the result of a complaint by inspectors from the Connecticut Department of Labor. The arrest warrant affidavit alleges Flete collected $11,907 in unemployment benefits from March 2012 through June 2015 while he was earning wages at the country club.
