Former Redding Highway Superintendent Charged with Embezzlement

On Nov. 23, Brookfield Police arrested Bruce Sanford on a warrant for the charge of Larceny in the first degree. 

The arrest was the result of an investigation begun on July 15 into Sanford's actions as the Town of Redding Highway Department Superintendent. The Brookfield Police Department conducted this investigation at the request of the Redding Police Department. The Town of Redding was the victim of the larceny in this investigation.

Sanford turned himself in at the Brookfield Police Department after learning of the warrant.  He was processed without incident and released on a written promise to appear at Danbury Superior Court on Dec. 8.
