ID theft and harassment were atop the cases being investigated last week by the Redding Police Department.
REDDING, CT — ID theft and harassment were atop the cases being investigated last week by the Redding Police Department.
On Dec. 29, a Hill Road resident complained to police they had been harassed multiple times by a man on the phone. The harassment was carried out with the use of multiple "burner" phones — inexpensive, prepaid cellphones designed to be discarded after use. The investigation remains open.
Also still open is the case of a Sanfordtown Road resident who told police on Christmas that a Texas resident had stolen her identity and had been writing out bad checks in her name. The victim first noticed the scam after she began receiving bounced checks from her bank.
