Improper Pass Leads to Head-On Collision in Redding

Head-on collision on Seventy Acre Road
On Friday, March 16 at 9:37 a.m. a 35-year-old New Jersey man was heading east on Seventy Acre Road when he crossed left of center to pass a truck, in a no passing zone, and struck another vehicle, driven by Edward Heere, 66, of Redding, head-on. Jimmy Talcott was issued a warning for a seatbelt violation and was given a ticket for improper passing. Both vehicles were towed and both men went to the hospital.

On Friday, March 16 at 8:17 p.m., Jose Dos Santos, 18, of Danbury turned himself in to police on an outstanding warrant for failure to appear. The charges he didn’t answer to in court were motor vehicle-related. He was held on $500 bond.
On Friday, March 16 at 12:09 p.m., Fairfield Police notified that they were in the process of serving on of the department’s outstanding failure to appear warrants. Aldo Samuel, 28, of Bridgeport was charged with failure to appear and given a court date later this month.

Disturbance at Georgetown Saloon
On Friday, March 16, Redding Police received a 911-hangup call from the Georgetown Saloon. Police responded and found there had been a patron on-site who’d been causing a disturbance and refused to leave. When the patron realized police were called, they left. No complaint was formally filed.
Driving charges
On Monday, March 19 8:58 a.m., police stopped an unregistered vehicle and found the driver of that vehicle, Meghan Rohrmann, 25, of Ridgefield, also had a suspended license. She was released on-scene and given an April 3 court date.
On Tuesday, March 13 at 5:36 p.m., an officer was running radar along Black Rock Turnpike when he stopped a vehicle traveling 59 mph. Daniel Topping, 40, of Danbury was also found to have a suspended license. He was released on-scene and given a March 22 court date.
