Jennifer D’Amico Named Principal Of Weston Intermediate School

Jennifer D'Amico appointed principal of Weston Intermediate School, starting July 1, following the retirement of Pattie Falber.

WESTON, CT — Weston Public Schools has announced the appointment of Jennifer D’Amico as the next principal of Weston Intermediate School. She will assume the role on July 1, following the retirement of longtime principal Pattie Falber.

D’Amico joins Weston from Darien Public Schools, where she served as both assistant principal and interim principal at Hindley Elementary School. Her career in elementary education includes experience as a classroom teacher for grades two through four, a math interventionist, and a leader of Professional Learning Communities.

“The position of WIS principal is a vital leadership role in our district, and Ms. D’Amico stood out as an exceptional candidate in our rigorous selection process,” said Juliane Givoni, director of human resources for Weston Public Schools.

Weston Superintendent Lisa Barbiero praised D’Amico’s leadership skills and focus on student development.

"I was so impressed with Ms. D’Amico’s ability to connect educational outcomes with social emotional wellbeing," Barbiero said. ""She exhibited a warm and approachable demeanor, yet demonstrated her unwavering commitment to upholding high expectations for students and staff. Ms. D’Amico will be an incredible leader, not only through her work at the Intermediate School, but also as a member of our district leadership team. We are so pleased to welcome her to the Weston community."

D’Amico holds a Sixth Year Diploma in Educational Leadership from the University of Connecticut, as well as a bachelor’s degree in elementary education and a master’s degree in education from the same institution.

"It is such an honor to be entrusted with the principalship of WIS," said D’Amico said. "I have come to see the pride, dedication, and joy in the Weston Public Schools. Upholding the traditions and values this community holds while growing together is beyond exciting."
