Frying Turkey In Garage Leads To Massive Weston House Fire: Officials
A large house fire was reported near the Westport town line in Weston on Thanksgiving evening, according to fire officials.
WESTON, CT — A 11-bedroom mansion at 40 Weston Road was destroyed in a fire that officials say may have started as a "result of frying a turkey" in the garage.
The fire was reported at 3:42 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day.
"The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the Weston Fire Marshal, however based on the preliminary investigation it appears the fire began in the garage and was the result of frying a turkey. There were no injuries and the house is deemed uninhabitable," fire officials said Friday afternoon.

"Firefighters attempted an aggressive fire attack however their efforts were thwarted by dangerous fire conditions and structural collapse," fire officials said.
