Latest CT COVID Hospitalizations, Positivity Rate: Town-By-Town
The daily coronavirus positivity rate dropped, nearly a percentage point overnight in Connecticut.
CONNECTICUT — Coronavirus-associated hospitalizations hit the lowest point they have seen since November, in the latest set of numbers released by the state Department of Public Health.
The daily coronavirus positivity rate also dropped, nearly a percentage point overnight, to 3.84 percent.

The daily coronavirus positivity rate is a function of the number of tests compared to the number of cases confirmed positive each day. Overnight, 1,263 positive cases were logged, out of 32,916 tests taken. The numbers of tests and cases confirmed do not include those taken with at-home self-test kits.

The number of people in Connecticut hospitals with COVID-19 is now the lowest it has been since before the 2021 Thanksgiving weekend. The state Department of Public Health reported Friday the number has dropped to 290, down 35 beds overnight. Fifty-one percent of those, or 148 patients, are fully vaccinated.
Currently, the highest number of the hospitalized —104 — are in Hartford County.
