Lecture in Easton: CT's One-Room Schoolhouses

Have you ever wondered what it would be like attending school in 19th Century Connecticut in a one-room schoolhouse?
Mary Palmieri Gai, historian and antique home specialist, will share her perspective gathered from research about the region’s one room schools.
On Saturday, April 28, the is hosting a free lecture — History of Connecticut's One-Room Schoolhouses — at , located on Westport Road in Easton. The lecture starts at 2 p.m.

What was the state of the educational system in the 1800s? What curriculum was followed? How were the teachers paid? What types of school supplies were available to the teachers and students? How does yesteryear compare with today’s standards?
Join the Historical Society of Easton for this glimpse into Connecticut’s past. After the lecture, beverages and treats will be available. Adults and children are most welcome to stop into the Adams Schoolhouse after the lecture.
