Letter: 'Adults At The Helm'

"I am pleading with those who normally sit out local election cycles to get out and vote for the Democratic candidates..."

To The Editor:

After viewing the LWV debate, it was evident that a critical decision for Redding is coming up on Nov 2.

With the national extremist divide and lack of thoughtful discourse creeping into town meetings like ours, I am pleading with those who normally sit out local election cycles to get out and vote for the Democratic candidates.

Vote for the adults that are running for local offices - adults in the sense of the good parents you know, and maybe are.

Concerned caretakers who listen, and empathize yet still make those sometimes tough choices that are not the easy ones. Experienced individuals who understand that debate is healthy, opposition does not make you an enemy to rage against, admit to do better and most importantly for me, elected officials who accept reality.

The Democratic leadership throughout this pandemic was led by the thoughtful caretakers who have kept our town positive with dare I say a good-parents-ability to adapt and protect. Vote Row A (Democrats) and let’s continue moving forward with intelligence and civility.
