To the Editor:

Easton badly needs Jeff Parker for first selectman and Kristi Sogofsky for selectman. They will put their time and efforts into running our town, while current first selectman Bindelglass continues to manage an orthopedic medical business with nine offices, 225 physicians and medical staff that oversee health care needs for 8,500 Sacred Heart University students. This may explain the many "Oopses" previously reported concerning our apparently time-starved first selectman.

Sacred Heart University, a non-profit that does not pay property taxes, has expressed interest in buying our beautiful town-owned South Park Ave. property to build faculty housing, breaking our one and three-acre residential zoning and opening Easton to commercial development. This is a conflict for Bindelglass.

In another conflict, Sacred Heart University created and manages the online Easton Courier. Their entire editorial staff works for SHU and, not surprisingly, show strong bias in favor of Bindelglass while devoting attention and space to attacking Parker.

Finally, Parker and Sogofsky will provide the two-thirds "Opt-Out" majority that our Board of Selectmen desperately needs to prevent the State of CT from taking Easton's zoning control away from our town and handing it over to the State.
