Man Crashed Dump Truck While Intoxicated in Easton, Police Say: Report
Callers told police the man had nearly struck several cars.

EASTON, CT — A Branford man was arrested for driving a dump truck under the influence after he crashed on Rte. 58 on July 12, reports WTNH. Police say John Warfield, 48, crashed into a large rock near the Burr Street intersection.
Police say they received a call oof a dump truck driving erratically nearly striking oncoming vehicles. Police say they found the truck disabled in the southbound shoulder with the engine running. The wheels were spinning in reverse in attempt to free the truck, but it was wedged against the rock.
Officers smelt a strong odor of alcohol on Warfield, and say he failed multiple sobriety tests.
