Man Stops Driver That Fled Redding Crash, Gets Her To Return To Scene: Report
Police advise that residents do not make their own traffic stops.

REDDING, CT —Although he commended a resident who stopped a driver who drove off from the scene of a crash, Police Chief Doug Fuchs advised that drivers should not to conduct their own traffic stops. According to a report from the News Times, a Norwalk man who witnessed a crash followed the driver for about a mile on Rte. 58 before the driver pulled over.
According to the report, the man convinced Ariele Andrade, 20, of Danbury to drive back to the scene of the crash. Another driver stopped an erratic driver on Sept. 13, according to police.
