Margaret G. Francis, 92 of Easton, passed away peacefully on July 15, 2025. Margaret was born on March 6, 1933 in Bridgeport, CT to the late Byron and Catherine Gale. Margaret was the beloved wife of the late Bion H. Francis Jr.
Margaret graduated from the University of Bridgeport with a degree in education and spent time teaching elementary school before shifting her focus to what she lovingly referred to as her role as a “domestic goddess” after meeting the love of her life, Bion. Together, they built a beautiful life rooted in partnership, adventure, and shared passions. Margaret was a naturally gifted artist, able to express herself through a wide range of mediums including pottery, painting, and mixed media. She enjoyed taking art classes throughout her life, always eager to learn something new and refine her skills.
Beyond her artistic talents, Margaret had a keen eye for antiques and ephemera, and she delighted in attending shows and curating unique finds. Her sense of style remained timeless, as she took pride in staying fashionable. She and Bion were deeply involved in the world of vintage cars, actively participating in rallies and clubs, including as founding members of the Sports Car Club of America. Margaret will be remembered for her creative spirit, elegance, and unwavering devotion to the life she and Bion created together.
