Motor Vehicle Mishaps Top Redding Police Blotter March 18 - April 1

REDDING, CT — Police responded to multiple motor vehicle incidents and served a warrant stemming from an out-of-town case over the past week, according to a summary released by the Redding Police Department.

Officers executed a paperless re-arrest warrant (PRAWN) on behalf of Bridgeport police related to an active case. Details of that case were not disclosed in the Redding report.

Separately, police are investigating a vehicle theft that occurred on March 19. A vehicle left with keys inside was taken from a private driveway. It was later recovered in Stratford on March 24. No suspects have been identified at this time.

Police also handled seven motor vehicle crashes between March 19 and March 24:

  • Two vehicles backed out of spaces and struck each other in the parking lot at Joel Barlow High School. Both sustained minor damage, and no enforcement action was taken.
  • One vehicle backed into a mailbox; no citations were issued.
  • A parked vehicle sustained minor front-end damage, reportedly from an unknown vehicle.
  • On Route 53, one vehicle stopped at a stop sign and was rear-ended by another. The second driver received a written warning for following too closely.
  • Three separate incidents occurred in which vehicles traveling on Meeker Hill Road, Poverty Hollow Road, and Newtown Turnpike drifted off the roadway and struck guard posts. All three incidents resulted in minor vehicle damage, and no injuries were reported.
