Motorist Seriously Injured Following Early Morning Crash: Redding PD

REDDING, CT — One motorist was seriously injured in a single-car crash early Sunday morning, according to the Redding Police Department.

The RPD received a 911 call about the crash on Blackrock Turnpike near the Easton line about 4:30 a.m.

First responders found the driver and sole occupant trapped within the car, and unresponsive. Fire and EMS were able to extricate the motorist, and transported him to Danbury Hospital with serious injuries.

The car was traveling southbound on Blackrock Turnpike when it drifted off the left, northbound, side of the road, struck a utility pole, and then a tree, according to Chief Mark O'Donnell.

The crash is under investigation by the Redding Police Department's accident reconstruction team.
