New Details On Ex Redding School Board Member Charged In Assault Case: Report
Sara Sobel was arrested for risk of injury of a minor in connection with a sexual assault in April.

REDDING, CT — A former Redding Board of Education member accused of sexual assault may be facing a protective order, reports the News Times. Prosecutors in the case asked a Danbury Superior Court judge this week for the order protecting the victim from any contact from Sara Sobel.
Sara Sobel and her husband Jon Sobel were arrested in April on a charge risk of injury to a minor. Police said they failed to cooperate with the Department of Children and Families during an investigation into a sexual assault.
Stephen Overby was charged with sexually assaulting a victim under 13 years of age. In court documents cited by the publication, Overby was described as a close personal friend Sara Sobel.

Sara Sobel was additionally charged in June with conspiracy to commit first-degree sexual assault, among other felonies. She was released on a $150,000 bond shortly after her April arrest.
