Once a month, members of the Meadow Ridge Flyers Club meet with Steve Edkins of Killer Planes for flight demonstrations and training. These aren’t your dollar store gliders – incredibly detailed and complex, some planes have a wingspan of nearly six feet, and include intricate features such as retractable gears and wing flaps.
The Flyers Club is still in its infancy, with members currently focused on mastering the flight simulator and transmitter controller. The goal is to eventually build up to basic techniques, such as controlled flying and takeoffs/landings, then graduate to more advanced techniques, which can include combat maneuvers.
