Obituary: Charles Thomas Bartholomae Jr., 70, Of Weston

WESTON, CT — It is with broken hearts and profound sadness that the family of Charles Thomas Bartholomae Jr. announces his passing on Oct. 23, 2023 in Boston, MA after a courageous battle against Leukemia. Charles was born on Nov. 21, 1953 in Newark, NJ to Charles Thomas Bartholomae Sr. and Marjorie Desch Bartholomae.
Charles grew up and spent his childhood in New Jersey. He graduated Madison High School in 1971 and attended Franklin Pierce University, where he received his bachelor’s with the class of 1975. He then continued his education, completing his MBA at the University of New Hampshire.

Charles spent his young professional years excelling in corporate America before establishing his independent insurance agency in Weston. Charles' passion for his clients grew into a network of friendships that spread throughout New England. Although he loved what he did for work, you could find Charles engaging in his true passions amongst the outdoors. He was proud to be a Boy Scout troop leader, a skilled sailing captain, lifelong fisherman, avid skier, and lover of golf. Charles was an incredible man who was full of life. He was a loyal friend and a generous person who was always willing to lend a helping hand. Ultimately, Charles' greatest accomplishment and joy was being a loving father and husband.
Charles will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. He is survived by his wife Louellen, son Charles III, grandson Hudson, sister Judy, niece Betsy and nephews Steve and Andy.
