Obituary: Frederick N. Kaechele, 98, Of Easton

Fred was a self-employed carpenter who enjoyed helping his clients throughout Fairfield County for over 60 years.

EASTON, CT — Frederick N. Kaechele passed away on Sept. 21, 2023 at the age of 98. He was the son of Frederick and Rose Nufer Kaechele. At the time of his passing, he resided in Brookfield, Connecticut, but his home was always in Easton, where he grew up. He was pre-deceased by his brother, Clifford Kaechele, his sister, Marion Bolmer and his sister, Laura Simondet. He is survived by his wife, Gene L. Kaechele, his son, Richard F. Kaechele and wife, Tina of Bethel, Connecticut, his daughter, Laura J. Fiorilla and husband, James of Redding, Connecticut, 6 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and to great-great-grandchildren.

He attended school in Easton, and served in the army during World War II throughout Europe. Fred was a self-employed carpenter who enjoyed helping his clients throughout Fairfield County for over 60 years. He was a member of the Sippin Winspur American Legion Post 176 in Monroe, Connecticut and the Stepney Baptist Church. He enjoyed bowling, working on old equipment and working in his yard. Fred always looked forward to family gatherings.

A service was held at the Stepney Baptist Church, 423 Main Street, Monroe, on Sept. 26, 2023. internment followed at the Union Cemetery in Easton.

In remembrance of Fred Kaechele’s life, in lieu of flowers, the family asks that any charitable donations be made to the Sippin Winspur American Legion Post 176, Monroe, and the Stepney Baptist Church, Book of Remembrance in Monroe.
