Belle and Eddie were married in Glasgow, Scotland in July 1958 and started life together in Patna Ayrshire. In 1962, they moved to the United States to join the rest of Belle’s family, who had gone to the United States earlier.

When they arrived in Stamford, they were pleasantly surprised by the large Scottish contingent in the area. Both Belle and Eddie joined a group called the order of Scottish Clans where Belle participated in competitions with the Daughters of Scotia Drill Team. Her children Diane and Edward attended local schools, St. Bridget’s and Catholic High (as it was called in those days). After their children were finished with schooling, Belle and Eddie decide to relocate to Redding in 1991.
