Dioses attended Norwalk Public Schools, worked in Fairfield and lived in Westport for a period.
The following obituary is from Shaughnessey Banks Funeral Home:
Joannes Dioses, 39 of Weston, loving husband and doting father, passed away suddenly on April 24, 2024, while traveling for work. He was a kind-hearted, selfless, and generous man.
Joannes (“Juan Pablo”) was born in Lima, Peru, and was known in his neighborhood for carrying around his chess set and challenging relatives and neighbors, old and young alike, to a game. He was truthful to a fault, sometimes getting relatives in trouble for repeating things he had overheard. Always playful, he loved “Carnaval,” a week-long celebration of indulgence preceding lent, where he relished in ambushing neighbors with water balloons. He attended Catholic school ran by nuns of the Dominican Order who often remarked on his prowess in math.

Joannes migrated with his family to the United States when he was 9 years old. He assimilated to life in the States quickly in great part thanks to our loving extended family who already lived here and with whom we celebrated many special occasions. He attended Norwalk public schools and graduated from Brien McMahon High School where he made lifelong friendships. He was a very loving son and brother who made his family proud with his academic achievements. He was also a diehard Knicks fan who idolized Patrick Ewing as a child.
Joannes loved his time in undergraduate school at the University of Connecticut where the enthusiasm for basketball and fanfare were perfect for him. He received his Bachelor of Science in Chemistry and worked as a research associate at Kemira for two years. Although he enjoyed the intrigue of chemistry, his penchant for numbers would lead him to pursue a Master of Business Administration in Accounting from Fairfield University. During his time at Fairfield University, he found an internship at Acme United Corporation that turned into a successful career there. His talent was recognized by the company, and he worked his way from a Business Associate to Vice-President of Operations, Finance and Integrations.

He met the love of his life, Lisa, 14 years ago and they explored many corners of the world in each other’s company. They built a beautiful life together in Weston. He adored his daughter, Pearl, who was the center of his universe. Unicorns, fairies and butterflies became part of his everyday vocabulary. Her love for art led him to hone his drawing skills. Cheerleading for her during swim meets became his new hobby. He was generous with his love and time with all who knew him. While adults mingled at family celebrations, he would find time to play hide-and-seek or chess with his daughter and nephews.
Although he is no longer with us, his fun-loving, dependable, and thoughtful nature will not be soon forgotten. He is survived by his wife, Lisa Dioses, daughter, Pearl, and parents, Carlos and Julia Susan Dioses, as well as his sister Karem Friedman, her husband, Tamir, and nephews, Ari and Zev.
