Obituary: Robert J. (Bob) Mannion Sr., 86, Of Redding & Ridgefield
Bob was the Founder and President of Interior Systems Co., Inc. and of Mannion Construction Corp.

REDDING, CT — Robert J. (Bob) Mannion Sr., 86, of Redding, longtime resident of Ridgefield, died on Tuesday, Nov. 7, 2023. He was the loving husband of Ann (Shanley) Mannion.
Bob was the Founder and President of Interior Systems Co., Inc. and of Mannion Construction Corp. He was a long serving member of the Ridgefield Zoning Board of Appeals.

After enlisting in the Connecticut National Guard, Bob attained the rank of Platoon Sergeant 1st Class. Bob received the 10-year Long Service Medal and many citations as a nationally ranked Master Sharpshooter with some of his records still standing today.
As a young boy, Bob developed his life-long love of hunting and fishing. He shared his passion for these sports with his children and grandchildren. Bob and Ann maintained a second home in Tequesta, Florida which brought them much pleasure through the years. Bob so enjoyed crossing his backyard, casting a line and reeling in their evening dinner.

Bob is survived by his wife (of 66 years) Ann, as well as his two daughters, Maura Mannion-Edelmann and Siobhan Rotella and her husband, Albert. Bob is also survived by his grandchildren Ryan Mannion, Connor Mannion and Nicole Edelmann, his sister, Brenda Schaub, his brother and his wife, F. Michael Mannion and Joan (Corey), many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and cousins.
Bob was predeceased by his son, Robert Jr., and his son in law, James Edelmann.
Family and friends will be received on Sunday, Nov. 19, 2023 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at Kane Funeral Home; 25 Catoonah Street, Ridgefield. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Monday, Nov. 20, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. at Saint Mary's Church; 55 Catoonah Street, Ridgefield. US Army funeral honors and interment will follow in Ridgebury Cemetery, Ridgefield.
