WESTON, CT — Weston High School is being dismissed early on Thursday due to an online threat, according to officials.

Officials are initiating the early release out of an “abundance of caution,” according to a post shared on the town’s Facebook page.

Students who drive will be released directly, and all other students are being relocated to Weston Middle School and released on school buses, according to the post.

“Please do not come to the campus to pick up your students,” the post reads. “We need to maintain School Road as open to facilitate buses and potential emergency personnel. These online threats are common throughout CT and we are taking it seriously and using the highest level of caution.”

The issue is only related to Weston High School, according to officials.
