Staples High School stands as a shining example of what teamwork and community can accomplish. What began as a simple idea has grown into a beloved school tradition and an inspiring annual campaign—“Get Your Pink On.”
This year, the school community rallied together from October 30th-Nov 1st for a series of pink-themed athletic events. Staples Field Hockey Team, Gridiron Club, Pyramid Club, Soccer Booster Club, Staples Pink Aid Club and fans alike united in support of a meaningful cause—raising funds for Pink Aid.
The initiative was first conceived by Tammy Zelkowitz, the mother of a Staples football player, who was inspired by national athletic teams promoting breast cancer awareness each October. Her thought was simple yet powerful: if national teams could do it, so could Staples!
Pink Aid, which began as a local nonprofit, has since grown into a national organization providing emergency financial assistance and emotional support to underserved and underinsured women battling breast cancer.
Since launching the campaign in 2011, Staples High School has proudly raised and donated $95,000 to Pink Aid—an incredible testament to the power of compassion, collaboration, and student-driven action.
Together, Staples High School continues to prove that when a community comes together, pink power truly makes a difference.
