Punches Thrown Between Father, Son in Easton

The ole father-son fistfight

On Monday, Jan. 2 at 6:33 p.m., responded to a call after a verbal argument between a father and his son erupted into a fistfight on Vista Drive. The father, 57, and his 17-year-old son were both charged with assault in the third degree. They were released on promises to appear at Jan. 4 court dates.

On Friday, Jan. 6 at 7:43 a.m., a Stamford resident turned himself in to Easton Police on a warrant for failure to appear in court to answer motor vehicle and narcotics charges stemming from June 2006.

Brian Rogers, 50, was brought to court that day.

Violation of protective order

Easton Police went to Fairfield to serve a warrant for violating a protective order on Friday, Jan. 6 at 9:02 p.m.

Robert Parker was held on $75,000 bond.

He did start the fire

On Dec. 19, at 12:38 p.m., Christopher Message, 35, of Fairfield was arrested after he admitted he started two fires in Easton on September 3, 2011. Both fires were set on Harvest Moon Road. One was in a Dumpster, which will have to be replaced by the owner, and the other was in a boat parked in a driveway.

Message was charged with reckless burning and criminal mischief in the first degree. He was returned to Garner Correctional.

Minors with marijuana           

On Dec. 26, at 7:53 p.m., four youths were found in a motor vehicle on Morehouse Road. The odor of marijuana was detected by officers, who found a glass jar and a baggie with marijuana in it, as well as drug paraphernalia.

The operator, a Redding youth, was issued an infraction for possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and violation of motor vehicle passenger restrictions.

All youths were released to their parents.

Failure to respond

On Dec. 16, at 1:01 p.m., Michael Robb, 19, of Fairfield was charged with failure to respond to an infraction issued on August 1, 2011, as he was away at school. The infraction he was charged with was possession of alcohol by a minor. He was released on a promise to appear at a Dec. 27, 2011 court date.
