Redding Hero Carries A Chainsaw, And Works In Emergency Response
We all know someone who's making a difference. Let's help share their amazing stories! Presented by Ring.

REDDING, CT — When times are tough, heroes emerge. We all know someone who's making a difference right now as we live through unprecedented and changing times.
Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize these heroes making a difference in their communities. Together with Ring, we're working to let all your neighbors know about these outstanding people and their stories.
Pam Miller nominated Dave Armstrong as a Patch Local Hero. They're both parishioners at the First Church of Christ, Congregational, in Redding.

Pam said that Dave is "always willing to help when needed," which is a good trait to have when you work in emergency response as he does. But what most impressed Pam was how Dave took the lead by cutting up two trees that fell on church property during a recent storm. Then he "notified the community that the wood was free for the taking," according to Pam.
Dave "goes above and beyond being helpful," she said.
