REDDING, CT - The easels are being dusted off, and the display boards are getting rolled out – the beginning stages of the Mark Twain Library’s 44th Annual Art Exhibition and Sale are underway. For 10 days in early December, the Library is transformed into an art gallery, featuring a juried exhibit displaying the works of artists throughout the region, a formal opening champagne gala on Friday, December 2nd, and art-related programs throughout the week.
“Word has been spreading, and the art show has been growing and featuring more new and exciting artists every year,” said Angela Matsuoka, chairman of the art show for the past four years.

All artists who participate in this show agree to donate 35% of the purchase price to the Mark Twain Library. The Library also hosts a popular silent auction the evening of the preview gala, in which 100 percent of the sale is donated to the Library -- a vital factor in the Library’s fundraising efforts. Please consider donating a piece of work, it’s a great way to introduce an artist’s talent to a new audience. For more information, please visit the Library’s website or call 203 938-2545.
