
Peter Svihra, 69, of Redding was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol following a motor vehicle stop on Route 53 on March 10 at 7:18 p.m.
According to police, officers observed Svihra operating erratically, and after stopping him, detected alcohol on his breath. Svihra failed field sobriety tests and was taken in to custody, where police determined his blood alcohol content was more than twice the legal limit.
Svihra was released on $50 bond and given a March 22 court date.

McWendel Alceus, 23, of Bridgeport was issued a misdemeanor summons for driving with a suspended registration and failure to have insurance following a license plate reader hit on Black Rock Turnpike on March 4 at 10:48 a.m.

Philip Rivera, 26, was charged with failure to appear after Westport Police determined there to be a warrant for his arrest.
According to Redding Police, Rivera never showed up in court to respond to his arrest in June 2011 for burglary in Redding. His arrest occurred on March 5.
