Redding Police Blotter Highlights For Nov. 12 - 17

REDDING, CT — Fender benders and a fire engine in a tight squeeze were at the top of the Redding Police Department's blotter this past week.

There was minor damage to a front bumper, but no one was injured when one vehicle backed up into another in a parking lot on Lonetown Road/Route 107 on Nov. 12.

The next day, a vehicle rolled through a stop sign at the intersection of Diamond Hill Road and Route 53, striking another vehicle ahead of it. The motorist received a warning for failing to grant the right of the way. No one was injured.

On Nov. 14, a Portland Hill Road resident told police that someone had stolen her identification and attempted to open a bank account in her name. This investigation remains open.

A Newtown fire engine returning from a mutual aid request to assist with a brush fire on Nov. 16 passed over a narrow bridge on Poverty Hollow Road, scraping the side of the truck. No one was injured.
