Redding Police Blotter Highlights For Nov. 4 - 11

REDDING, CT — Vandalism and attempted fraud were at the top of the Redding Police Department's blotter this past week.
On Nov. 7, a school bus mirror became entangled with a wire hanging from a utility pole in the travel portion of the roadway, pulling it off the pole, according to police.
On Nov. 9, a resident reported to police that someone had thrown a rock through the window of their Olmstead Road home. Officers checked the area, but were unable to locate a suspect.

Also on Nov. 9, the executive director of the Meadow Ridge retirement community in Redding told police that someone claiming to represent Eversource called, requesting payment for a bill through Western Union. The investigation remains open.
There were two motor vehicle accidents on Black Rock Turnpike/Route 58 on Nov. 8. In the first, a driver "not paying attention lost control" of their vehicle and struck and broke a utility pole, according to police. The motorist received a minor injury to the left wrist and was evaluated by EMS personnel on the scene. The investigation remains open.

In the second mishap, a northbound motorist attempting to drive around stopped traffic struck a southbound vehicle. Police issued the driver a ticket for unsafe movement from a stopped position. There were no injuries reported.
On Nov. 11, an employee at the Redding Ridge Deli-Market on Black Rock Turnpike/Route 58 told police someone struck her parked vehicle in the lot and drove away. The investigation remains open.
