Redding Police Blotter Highlights For Sept. 23-29

REDDING, CT — Numerous motor vehicle accidents were at the top of the Redding police blotter last week.

A motorist suffered minor injuries on Sept. 25 when they got distracted and struck two guard rails in the southbound shoulder of Mountain Road, according to police. The driver was issued a ticket for driving without a license and failure to keep right.

On Sept. 28, the Redding Police Department received a complaint about loud music. An officer found the person responsible and had them turn it down.

There were no injuries on Sept. 26 when a westbound driver along Old Redding Road crossed over the center line and struck a car moving in the eastbound direction. Police issued the driver a warning for failing to keep right.

Another motorist lost control of their vehicle on a wet Redding Road on Sept. 26, and collided with another vehicle. No one was injured, police said.

On Sept. 27, a motorist along Great Pasture Road "crossed over the centerline due to the road being wet from a heavy rainstorm," according to police, striking another vehicle. No one was injured, and the driver was issued a warning for failing to keep right.

On Limekiln Road, two vehicles collided on a sharp curve on Sept. 29. Police issued one of the motorists a ticket for driving without a license, and a warning for failure to keep right. No one was injured, police said.

A Portland Avenue resident complained to police on Sept. 23 that someone had stolen a tire-rim, valued at $500, from the back of his pickup truck, parked in his driveway.

The following day, a motorist who had parked, but not locked, their vehicle in a Main Street business area told police that someone had rifled through the center console and glove box. No items were reported missing.

On Sept. 24, Danbury resident Fausto Cadmilema-Dutan, 53, turned himself into Redding police after being advised there were numerous warrants outstanding for his arrest — three counts of failing to appear in court. A new court date was scheduled for him in Danbury Superior Court the next day.
