Redding Police ID Man Killed In Sport Hill Crash

REDDING, CT — Police have identified the driver killed in the car crash on Sport Hill Road on Oct. 22.

James Porter, 64, of Stratford, was killed after his vehicle struck a tree on a sharp curve in the roadway around 12:45 in the afternoon. The accident occurred approximately one quarter of a mile north of Bridle Road.

Porter "may have had a medical issue, which may have been the cause or a contributing factor in the crash," according to Redding Police Chief Mark O’Donnell.

This case remains open as investigators are waiting for autopsy results from the Medical Examiner's Office, O'Donnell said.
