Redding Police Log: Feb. 7 Through Feb. 14
A rental car never returned, an underage drinking party and a drug overdose.

A stolen rental car
On Tuesday, Feb. 8 at 10:59 a.m. police received a complaint from Enterprise Rent-A-Car on Ethan Allen Highway that a vehicle had been rented from them many months ago and never came back.
The company reported the vehicle as being stolen. Police said the person who rented the vehicle is known, and that, surprisingly, this sort of thing is not that uncommon.

Vandalism leads to underage drinking party
On Saturday, Dec 12 at 12:43 a.m., police responded to the vandalism of a car parked along Umpawaug Road. The vehicle had been spraypainted with profanity, police said. The car's driver was at a party at a private residence on the road.

Police eventually discovered there was an underage drinking party going on at the residence.
A 17-year-old Redding male was issued an infraction ticket for possession of alcohol by a minor, and the case remains under investigation.
Drug overdose
Police responded to a call reporting an unresponsive man at a Limekiln Road residence at 9:23 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 14.
The 39-year-old male who was found at the residence was taken to Danbury Hospital, where he later died.
Police said they believe the man died from a heroin overdose. The case remains under investigation.
