REDDING, CT — The Redding Police Department responded to a series of motor vehicle incidents and domestic disputes during the week of May 12 through May 19.

On May 14, officers received a walk-in complaint at police headquarters regarding a domestic dispute. A man was later taken into custody in connection with the incident.

That same day, a northbound vehicle on Redding Road (Route 53) veered onto the shoulder and struck a utility pole, snapping it in half. The driver told police he had fallen asleep after working extended hours. No injuries were reported, and a warning was issued for an improper turning maneuver.

Also on May 14, a collision occurred at the intersection of Meeker Hill Road and Route 58 when a vehicle entered the roadway and struck another traveling northbound. No injuries were reported. The driver of the vehicle entering Route 58 received a warning for failure to grant the right of way.

A separate incident that day on Lonetown Road (Route 107) involved a driver who swerved to avoid a deer and struck a section of wire rope guardrail. No injuries were reported, and no enforcement action was taken.

On May 19, police responded to a single-vehicle crash in the parking lot of the Georgetown Veterinarian Hospital off Route 7. No injuries were reported, and further details were not available at the time of the report.

Later that day, officers responded to a domestic dispute on Dry River Court, where a woman was issued a misdemeanor summons in connection with a simple assault.
