Redding Police Seize 15 Guns From Suicidal Man's House

The guns appeared to be legally owned, police said.

Fifteen firearms were seized by police after a Redding man threatened to commit suicide at his residence on Goodridge Road.

According to police, officers responded to the residence on March 5 at 7:52 p.m. after a woman reported to police a man had threatened to commit suicide. While she was on the phone, the man discharged a round in the house.

When Redding Police arrived on scene, the woman escaped unharmed. Police then called in help from Danbury. That department sent a full SWAT team and assisted in getting the man out of the house unharmed.
