Why did you move to Redding?

We moved to Redding because we loved the small town and found a great piece of property to build our home.

What keeps you here?

We've lived here for almost nine years now and it feels like home for our family. My husband’s construction business, TR Building & Remodeling, is local as he works in lower Fairfield County.

Tells us about your company. How and why did you found it?

My NewsGirl was founded after working with my husband in marketing for his residential remodeling company. Once I started writing newsletters for him, small business owners in his industry asked if I'd be interested in creating email campaigns for them so, I decided it was time to formalize my own business.

You do work with the Redding Newcomers Club? Tell us about that.

I've been part of Redding Neighbors & Newcomers since 2004 serving on the board in the positions of Secretary, VP of Interest Groups and Publicity in addition to the start up of two interest groups, Cooking Club and Neighbors Who Network. Both interest groups have taken off beyond my wildest dreams! The Cooking Club started in September 2005 and continues to flourish today under the direction of Jenny Lambrech, and last spring Neighbors Who Network began and now consists of over 42 local businesses in the Redding area. The club has a great website, reddingneighborsandnewcomers.org.

What is your fondest memory that takes place in Redding?

My fondest memories that take place in Redding are from Redding Neighbors & Newcomers events where I've met some of my closest friends.  For example, the holiday parties, Lobster Clambake, and Cooking Club events have been wonderful! This social club has created a sense of community here for us since our children attend a private school.
