Redding Resident Reports $2K Chimney Scam
The resident was allegedly taken by non-licensed workers.

A Gallows Hill Road resident was reportedly scammed out of $2,000 by someone conducting a chimney scam. The resident reported the scam to police on March 6 at 9:35 a.m.
“These seem to happen almost every year,” Redding Police Chief Doug Fuchs said Monday.
“It’s a good reminder [that] if you hire chimney repairs folks or driveway sealing or driveway paving or anyone else, everyone in this state has to be licensed. To conduct repairs without being properly licensed by the Consumer Protection division is illegal.”
