Redding Votes on $400K for Projects Today
Voters will weigh in tonight on whether to appropriate $100,000 for a sprinkler system upgrade at town hall and a little more than $300,000 to rebuild a bridge on Poverty Hollow Road.

Redding voters today will chime in at a town meeting on whether to allot $400,000 for .
Taxpayers will be asked to fund the two projects—upgrading the sprinkler system at town hall so it is code-compliant and rehabilitating a bridge the state deemed necessary on Poverty Hollow Road—by a cost not to exceed $100,000 and $301,349.62, respectively.
At the Board of Selectmen's meeting last week, First Selectman Natalie Ketcham said there'd not yet been a bid on the sprinkler project, but the town's engineer estimated it would cost $100,000. There were two bids on the bridge project, she said.

The selectmen had previously estimated the bridge project would cost between $200,000 and $250,000, while the sprinkler project would cost around $90,000.
