Follow the paw prints left on signs throughout the school, read the hints sent via email and look for Rocky Raccoon, the Redding Elementary School (RES) mascot, and you’ll uncover the latest fashion statement to hit Redding.
The all new RES Spiritwear collection is top quality, active wear, for both adults and children, reflective of Redding’s beautiful outdoors image. However, more than just the color and fit has changed with the collection. To further instill a sense of school spirit, the RES PTA has changed the logo, creating an image with both demographics in mind.
“The new PTA Spiritwear logo keeps the RES mascot concept but adds a more updated feel,” said , co-president, Redding Elementary School PTA. “The raccoon tracks across the front of the active wear make it appealing for adults and fun for children plus, when the whole family is wearing the RES logo that really exemplifies school pride!”
A key goal of the RES PTA is to help build excitement for their school and its programs and initiatives. Engaging the children and their families in school spirit activities and fundraisers now will translate into continued positive expectations for themselves and their surroundings in the future.
“The Redding Elementary School appreciates what our PTA has done with the Spiritwear program and helping to instill a sense a school pride,” said Stephanie Pierson-Ugol, principal, Redding Elementary School. “This fundraiser’s underlying goal is in synch with our initiatives to teach our students about the importance of camaraderie, mutual support and sportsmanship.”
The RES PTA Spiritwear program is an all-volunteer effort and an important contributor to the PTA’s budget. Through money raised from the Spiritwear campaign, the RES PTA will be able to fund activities such as school trips, author visits and family socials. In addition, the PTA will be able to provide grants for new school equipment like last year’s zip line in the gym, or even a CAD/CAM program for future LEGO® “engineers.”
