School Briefs: April 27

Weston, Redding and Easton students earn accolades nationwide.

Emory University recently released its dean’s list for the Fall 2011 semester, and four local students were among those named. In order to be named, students must have a grade point average of approximately 3.81.

  • Ian Bolin, of , son of Kurt and Anne Bolin
  • Mackenzie Crocker, of Weston, daughter of Mason and Darla Crocker
  • Michael Blau, of Weston, son of Peter and Barbara Blau
  • Diana Neeves, of Redding, daughter of Walter and Patricia Neeves.

Sonya Gosain, of Easton, daughter of Vikram Gosain and Penny Gosain, was named to the Merit List of Oxford College, the two-year liberal arts division of Emory University for the Fall 2011 semester. In order to be named, students must earn a grade point average of at least 3.0.

The following area students were recently named to the winter honor roll at the Loomis Chaffee School: Westonites Lindsey Kendall, a freshman, and Alexandra Kendall, a senior, both received high honors.

The following students were named to the Winter Term 2012 Deans' List at Choate Rosemary Hall: Rachel Mellon of Redding and Jacqueline Bernstein of Weston.

Claire Egan of Weston, a sophomore at Westminster School in Simsbury,  earned honors for the Winter 2012 academic term.

Max T. Silver-Thompson of Redding, received academic honors from the at Binghamton University by making the university's dean's list for the Fall 2011 semester.
