School Briefs: February 12

• Redding resident Amanda Macchio was recently named to the dean’s list for excellence in mathematics at Georgia Southern University for the Fall 2010 semester.

• Seven Weston, Redding and Easton residents were recently named to the dean’s list at Connecticut College for the Fall 2010 semester. Westonites Catherine Campbell, a member of the Class of 2014, William Gross, a member of the Class of 2012, and Alanna Jamner, a member of the Class of 2014, earned honors; Redding resident Carrie Rubury, a member of the Class of 2012, earned high honors; Eastonites Marissa Smith (2014) and Robert Webbe (2011) earned honors while Kevin Tyler (2013) earned high honors.

• The University of New Hampshire recently released its dean’s list for the Fall 2010 semester, and Daniel Mercede, an Eastonite, and Sarah Griffin, a Westonite, were among those named.

• Stonehill College recently released its dean’s list for the Fall 2010 semester, and Westonite Jane Dudley, a member of the Class of 2012, and Eastonite Kelly Romans, a member of the Class of 2011, were among those named.

• The University of Connecticut released its dean's list for the Fall 2010 semester, and many local residents were among those named. In Easton: Christopher Brozdowski, Ariane Centrella, Leah Christiani, Elizabeth Chu, Robert Lage, Jillian Lemma and Helen Logie. In Redding: Kate Bodurtha, Russell Bodurtha, Deanna Deakin, Nadia Fletcher, Rory Geyer, Kayla Kochler, Stephanie Letkowski, Carey Macdonald, Anastasia Matskovich, Robert Munce, Kelly O'Donnell, Brenna Regan, Seth Rosenberg, Eliza Smith, Adrian Sonnenschein, Patrick Stimola, Caitlin Taylor, Glen Ullman, Christopher Wasko and Nicholas Wasko. In Weston: Chelsea Ackerman, Ashley Castillo, James Gaffney, Oliver Gaffney, Marie Gargiulo, Jennifer Guha, Richard Koproski, Scott Meshnick, Erica Palumbo, Julia Roth and Megan Wiethoff.

• The University of New Haven recently released its dean's list for the Fall 2010 semester, and David Ho-Yen, of Redding, Ilisa Nussbaum, of Weston, and Kristen Scatamacchia, of Easton, were among those named.

• Sarah V. Curry, an Eastonite who's a sophomore at St. Lawrence University, was recently named to the school's dean's list for the Fall 2010 semester.

• Skidmore College recently released its dean's list for the Fall 2010 semester. Among those named were Michelle Molokotos, daughter of Thanasis and Diane Molokotos of Easton, a member of the Class of 2013, and Jack Fischer, a Westonite who's the son of Barry and Marti Fischer, a member of the Class of 2014.

• Skidmore College also gave three area students its highest honors: Elizabeth Roche, an Eastonite who's the daughter of Edward and Deborah Roche, a member of the Class of 2011; Emily St. Denis, a Westonite who's the daughter of Ellen St. Danis and a member of the Class of 2011; and Edith Mudge, a Redding resident who's the daughter of Grant and Kristin Mudge and a member of the Class of 2012.
