School Briefs: Jan. 16

Two students — Julia Bensimon, a member of the Class of 2013, and Samuel Weyrauch, a member of the Class of 2014 — were named Sarah and James Bowdoin Scholars at Bowdoin College. To be named, students must earn a grade point average of 4.0.

Adam Jacobs, of Easton, was awarded a 1832 Founder Scholarship at Gettysburg College.

Savannah College of Art and Design recently released its dean’s list for the Fall Semester, and three local students were among those named: Rachel Ordway, of Easton; Jacquelyn Ellis, of Weston; and Nicholas Swerdlowe, of Weston. In order to be named, students must earn grade point averages of 3.5 or higher.

Claire Egan of Weston, a sophomore at Westminster School in Simsbury, Conn., earned honors for the fall 2011 academic term.

Marlaina Conti, a Redding resident, recently earned a master of education degree in occupational therapy from Springfield College.

Loomis Chaffee School recently released its fall honor roll, and two Weston students were among those named: Alexandra Kendall, a senior, and Lindsey Kendall, a freshman.
