School Briefs: June 4

Weston, Redding and Easton students earn accolades nationwide.

Quinnipiac University recently held its commencement ceremonies, and five local students were among those who received diplomas:

  • Ryan T. Walker, of Easton, earned a bachelor of arts degree in history and independent studies
  • Natalie M. Ho-Yen, of Redding, bachelor of arts in social services 
  • Jessica M. Seewald, of Redding, bachelor of arts in English 
  • Mara R. Yamnicky, of Redding, bachelor of arts in public relations
  • Jordan A. Sherman, of Redding, bachelor of arts in English

Ruby Glaser, of Weston, received an award upon graduating from Whitman College with a bachelor of arts degree in psychology. Glaser was given a Colleen Seidelhuber Willoughby Award for Excellence in Student Leadership.

Katherine Tom, of Weston, recently received a bachelor of arts degree from Skidmore College.

Kristen Scatamacchia, of Easton, was named to the dean's list at the University of New Haven for the Spring 2012 semester. In order to be named, students must earn grade point averages of at least 3.5.

  • Benjamin B. Katz, of Easton, received a bachelor of science in environmental sciences
  • Justin D. Lemma, of , received a bachelor of science in wildlife & fisheries biology
  • Ryan C. McLoughlin, of Weston, received a bachelor of arts in political science
  • Lily L. di Costanzo, of Redding, received a bachelor of arts in psychology
  • Emily L. Jessep, of Redding, received a bachelor of arts in anthropology
