Good afternoon,

There were some positive developments regarding the EMS project this week. The town closed on purchasing the adjacent property to the current EMS, at 444 Sport Hill Road so that we can modify the septic system and allow for side entrance and egress to the building. Also, the building committee gave final approval to the design. We will be going out to bid shortly for a construction company to actually do the renovation.
Please try to attend the town meeting on Monday, September 30, at Samuel Staples Elementary School at 6:00 pm (please note the time). We will be discussing purchasing radios and the infrastructure to improve our emergency services communication. This will improve coverage, particularly for our fire and police departments. It will also improve the hardware for our fire department to fulfill a need highlighted in the recent emergency services consultant report, which has been truly decades in the making. Ground rules for the town meeting are that speakers should limit their comments to three minutes and confine them to the topic of the purchase of and funding for the communications package.
