We have so much to be thankful for here in our beautiful town. I hope you all have a happy Thanksgiving with family and friends, and please take time to give thanks for all that we are so fortunate to have.

It is also the beginning of the holiday season. Easton is proud to be the Christmas Tree Capital of Connecticut. Each year, the Easton Garden Club supports our Easton Tree Farms & Stands and those farms and eateries creating holiday cheer by publishing a holiday version of our Easton Farm Map. From the Fire Marshall: The State of Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection has lifted the statewide burn ban. Effective immediately, the Office of the Fire Marshal is lifting our temporary burn ban on fire pits, chimineas, and warming/cooking fires on homeowner’s private property. Any persons with valid open burning permits are reminded that prior to burning, they must call the Fire Department at 203-268-2833, to confirm whether it is an approved burn day. The efforts by the community during this historically dry time have certainly helped to reduce the number of brush fires the fire department has needed to respond to, reducing the risk to the firefighter's safety while protecting our beautiful community.
