Why go? Do you like vintage clothes? If you do, then the Hill-Stead museum has the exhibit for you. The Hill-Stead Museum is pleased to present a special exhibition of clothing from the 1830s–1930s, Off the Rack: 100 Years of Men’s & Women’s Fashion at Hill-Stead Museum is drawn from Hill-Stead's Pope and Riddle family collections, from additional donations to the museum for interpretive use, and from a private collection. Visitors can get additional insight into the show with the museum’s The last tour of the day begins at 3 pm.

Why Go? This is a “sensory friendly film program” which caters to children with autism. The movie screened will be Alvin and the Chipmunks 2: The Squeakquel. Children attending the event are allowed to walk around, dance, sing, or shout without feeling as though they are causing a disturbance. The auditorium will have the lights brought up and the sound turned down, and the movie will be free of advertisements and previews. This event is sponsored by Nature’s Temptations and underwritten by Adam Broderick’s Salon and Spa.

Why Go: The collection includes artists such as Benton, Casssatt, Church, Cole, LeWitt, Sargent, Stuart, Whistler and Wyeth, with more than 5,000 works of art from 1740 to the present. The museum shop will be selling reproductions and merchandise. These are all fantastic artists—Whistler and Sargent are world-renown. Go Saturday before noon and receive free admission!

Where: Silvermine Arts Center, 1037 Silvermine Road, New Canaan
When: Wednesday – Saturday: 12 – 5 p.m.; Sunday: 1 – 5 p.m. Gallery open through June 3.
Why Go? Art of the Northeast, in its 62nd year, is one of the most anticipated regional juried shows of the year at the Silvermine Arts Center, traditionally drawing over 1200 entries, and open to all media and artists throughout New England, New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania. This year’s juror is Tom Eccles, Executive Director, Center for Curatorial Studies, Bard College, New York. Throughout its history Art of the Northeast (AONE), originally called Art of New England, has been a showcase for many emerging artists who have gone on to receive national acclaim. Jurors have included curators and directors of major galleries and museums including the Metropolitan Museum of Art, MOMA and the Whitney Museum.

Happiness seems to have found Jane at last, but could Mr. Rochester's terrible secret be about to destroy it forever? This movie has received favorable critical reviews on IMDB.com, with a 7.9 score.
