Vomit Found at Redding Fight Scene

Suspicious incident

On Saturday, Dec. 10 at 11:17 p.m., police responded to a report of a fight in the area of the parking lot of the on Umpawaug Road. Upon arrival, there was evidence in the parking lot that someone had thrown up. Nobody was at the scene. Police checked the area and could not find anyone.

On Sunday, Dec. 11 at 12:53 .m., a Trumbull woman was caught driving drunk on Black Rock Turnpike.

According to police, officers stopped Tracy Keating, 49, for operating erratically while she was heading south on Black Rock Turnpike. She then failed field sobriety tests and was subsequently taken into custody. It was then determined her blood alcohol level was more than twice the legal limit.

Officers also found her to be in possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

She was held on a $100 bond and given a Dec. 22 court date.

Driving charges           

On Thursday, Dec. 8 at 10:23 a.m., Jon Pompea, 50, of Redding was stopped for talking on his cell phone while driving. It was then discovered he was driving while his license was suspended. He was released in the field to appear at Danbury Court later this month.

On Sunday, Dec. 11 at 11:22 a.m., a Vermont man was stopped because officers observed a child in his vehicle was not safely secured in a child seat. It was also discovered that Giovanni Alberino, 37, was driving with the wrong license plates on his vehicle and did not have insurance. He was released to appear in court later this month.

On Sunday, Dec. 11 at 6:09 p.m., a Danbury man was stopped for speeding on Black Rock Turnpike. It was later determined he was driving with a suspended license. Rogeria Maciel, 27, was given a verbal warning for speeding and was charged with operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license and will appear in court later this month.

Suspicious individual

On Saturday, Dec. 10 at 12:36 a.m., police responded to an intoxicated individual sitting on the side of Redding Road. After investigating, police determined the man had an active warrant for his arrest in Florida. Police contacted the Florida sheriff’s office, which declined to extradite him. The man was taken to Days Inn on Route 7 and left there for the night.
