Weston Business Aims To Make Parenting Easier

Diaper Bag Dallies, a recently launched Weston-based business, provides parents with kits to help them prepare for eight situations.

There's one thing people—especially parents of newborns—never have enough of: Time.

To help new parents save precious time, earlier this year Weston resident Jennifer Roh launched Diaper Bag Dailies, a small business based out of her home which offers eight different "pre-packaged kits that fit into your diaper bag and provide essential items for diapering, feeding, changing, soothing and playing with your baby or toddler," according to the company's website.

The kits, which range in price from $26 to $40, are designed so that rather than grabbing a variety of products to pack in a diaper bag before heading out for the day, a parent will simply have to grab the kit, saving time. The eight different kit varieties are as follows:

Roh said she came up with the idea for the company on New Year's Eve.

"I was inspired by my experience as a Mom," she told Patch. "I think there was an unmet need in the market for this product, and I designed it based on my years of experience, which also includes a lot of lessons learned from other parents and caregivers."

Roh said the kits provide parents and caregivers a convenience and allow them to not have to stress over whether they're packing the right things.

"They might learn about items they can use that they didn't know about before. They save so much time because they allow you to just 'grab and go' and get out the door," she said. "Anyone who has kids knows that you can spend a lot of time and worry trying to make sure you don't forget something when you go out. Sometimes you bring too much of one thing and not enough of another—our kits ensure you bring the same thing each time. You can get a subscription too so that your refills always arrive when you need them, but they don't take up a lot of space like big boxes of diapers, wipes, etc."

Business is going well so far, she said.

"So far, so good," Roh said. "We are now carried locally at the Fairfield Women's Exchange in Southport, and I am very excited about that. I love their store and I have always gone there to buy unique baby gifts."

Diaper Bag Dailies uses products made in the United States, Roh said.

"I feel good about supporting our domestic economy, and I feel better about giving my children snacks and toys which are made here," she said. "If Diaper Bag Dailies can help keep even one job here, I feel great about that."

Roh said she was also happy that her company is able to give back to the community by working with a local diaper bank to get underprivileged families supplies they need.

Plans for a special needs kits are also underway, she said.
