Weston Church To Host 15th Annual Family Fun Carnival With Rides, Games And Live Music

St. Francis of Assisi in Weston hosts its Family Fun Carnival Oct. 4-5 with rides, games, food trucks, and live music.

WESTON, CT — St. Francis of Assisi Church will host its 15th annual Family Fun Carnival on Oct. 4-5, offering rides, games, food and live music for all ages.

The event, held at 35 Norfield Road in Weston, runs from noon to 6 p.m. each day, rain or shine. Saturday’s schedule includes a hayride from 1 to 5 p.m. Inflatables such as bounce houses, a giant slide, Euro Bungee and an obstacle course will be available, with all-day ride bracelets sold on site.

Carnival games will be featured for children and adults. Kids’ favorites include ax throw, pop a balloon and lucky ducky, while adults over 21 can try games like win some cheer, mystery boxes and outdoor challenges.

Food will be provided by local vendors including Dos Chiludo and Mister Softee, along with a Knights of Columbus tent serving burgers, hot dogs, sausage and peppers, and meatball heroes. Traditional carnival fare such as pretzels, cotton candy and popcorn will also be available, along with water, beer and wine.

Live music will accompany both days of festivities. On Saturday, Ecoustic Rock Monster will perform from noon to 3 p.m., followed by Furious George Band from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday’s lineup includes Fairfield School of Rock from 12:30 to 3 p.m. and Two of Us from 3 to 6 p.m.

Carnival chairperson Sandra Jester said the event has grown into a seasonal tradition. “We are thrilled with how many people from all over Fairfield County attend each year. The air is full of laughter and joy as families enjoy a beautiful afternoon together.” she said.

A Blessing of the Animals will precede the event at 11 a.m. Saturday in the church parking lot. St. Francis of Assisi, the patron saint of animals, is honored each year with the ritual, which is open to people and pets of all faiths.

Sponsors include Camelot Real Estate, Commerce Park Children’s Dentistry and Orthodontics, Crisdel, Engraved Products, Fairfield County Bank and Riverside Cemetery.
