Weston High Mock Trial Team Advances

The Mock Trial team competed in the regional high school mock trial competition held at the Waterbury Superior Court last Thursday, Dec. 15.

Weston's coach, Peggy Jorgensen, entered two teams consisting entirely of freshmen and sophomores, and both teams advanced to the next round of competition. Only three teams out of 12 advanced out of this regional.

This is the first year that Weston High School has competed in high school mock trial although the team includes finalists from the 2010 middle school championship as well as members of the 2011 middle school state championship team.

The next round of competition will be in January 2012.
